It all began with an idea, a surfboard squeezed into a compact car, and an unwavering passion for making a difference. Two photographers, myself and the amazing Clare, embarked on a road trip through the southern reaches of South Africa—a journey destined to unveil the stories of our rhinos, the extraordinary men and women safeguarding them, and the sprawling wilderness that cradles these magnificent creatures. Little did we know, this road trip would be the genesis of the Boots on the Ground narrative, a journey that transcended miles and evolved into one grand adventure.
