About

Conservation Dog Talks

Bring the bush to you

A dog can smell what no ranger can see.
That’s why conservation dogs have become one of the most powerful partners in the fight against poaching.

I’m a dog handler trained in South Africa. I’ve worked alongside rangers and dogs in Kruger National Park, helped build K9 units in Congo and Zambia, helped train dogs in Malawi and supported conservation efforts across Central and Southern Africa.
In my talk, I take you into that world: how conservation dogs are chosen and trained, how they work alongside rangers in the field, and what it takes for a handler and a dog to become one team under extreme conditions. Y
ou’ll see my own photos and footage and hear stories from the bush, including from my own anti-poaching dog, Skaduwee.
